Bleys is a 6 week old (born April 23, 2010) black “Weimador”, with a white blaze on her chest. Mom is a purebred Weimaraner and we believe Dad was a Lab.

Bleys will be available for adoption on June 18, 2010.

The AWCR uses a common process in its rescue program. Read about our Adoption Process procedures.

We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. If you wish to make a donation, please use our online giving page.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.

Is Bleys still available for adoption. We live on Hilton Head Island. We lost our Weim 2 months ago of 15 years. Would love to adopt from rescue league.

    Hi Shannon!
Sorry to hear about your loss! I lost my personal weim of 15 years in February… he was my first “weim-love”, so he will always hold a special place in my heart!

Bleys has found her new home! If you are interested in a rescue weimie – or two! :-) – Charleston Weim Rescue may be able to help. Also, we get an unfortunate amount of dogs from the Effingham County, GA Animal Shelter, which is just a stone’s throw from Savannah (pulled one last week). If you’d to talk more about our program and possibly adopting one of our weims, please complete an application at and we will call you to talk more about our group and our available weimies! Thanks! We look forward to hearing from you!

On a personal note, would love to talk to you about vacationing with dogs on the beach in Hilton Head… we usually go to Cape San Blas on the Panhandle in November each year… there are 4 of us… we each have a weim… we’re worried about lots of people on the beach and how dogs running the waves are perceived… any thoughts?
