Hi, my name is Lulu and I am a very sweet, little girl (50 lbs.) I am 3 yrs. old and spayed. Everyone thinks I am just PRECIOUS! My family gave my brother, Eli, and me to the rescue because they could no longer care for us. I am very submissive and a ‘follower.’ I am crate trained, housebroken and I know some basic commands. My family kept me outside in the backyard during the day because the little boy had asthma, but I always slept in the house at night, in a crate. My mom described me as friendly, enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky, but some say I’m shy. I am okay around small children, but I think cats should be elsewhere. I would love a family that would let me stay with my brother Eli, but if you have another dog, I can come live with you and learn to love that dog…I promise I’ll be a good girl. Won’t you give me a chance to show you?

Hi, my name is Eli! I am a handsome, neutered, 4 yr. old, and I only weigh 60 lbs. (The nice lady that took my picture said I was ‘gorgeous!’) I have a beautiful white mark on my chest and a natural (undocked) tail. My family gave my sister, Lulu, and me to the rescue because they could no longer care for us. I like kids, long walks, strangers and riding in the car. I also like to play ball. My family kept me outside in the backyard during the day because the little boy had asthma, but I always slept in the house at night, in a crate. My mom said I am very outgoing, anxious to please, and I know basic commands, and I’m housebroken. I don’t like cats! I would love a family that would let me stay with my little sister, Lulu, but if you have another dog, I can come live with you and learn to love that dog…I promise I’ll be a good boy as long as I get lots of exercise. Won’t you let me show you what a fantastic dog I am?

I just don’t know why my family took me to the shelter after all these years! They told the lady at the shelter that they just couldn’t care for me anymore. That made me very sad because I was always such a loving, sweet boy. My name is Britches and I am 12 years old. I still have lots of love to give and I am gentle, affectionate, and very laid back.
My foster mom said I am housebroken and that it is completely safe to leave me out during the day while you’re at work…I really don’t like to be crated. I like to go for walks and go to the dog park, but I move a little slowly…I used to like to run, but I can’t anymore, so I won’t be a running companion. If a Weimaraner’s energy level scares you some, I would be the perfect fit for you! I like to just hang out with you. I am great with kids, elderly people, and most dogs, but just okay with cats. My favorite thing is to take naps and have my ears rubbed. I know how to sit and lie down, and I will wait patiently while you fix my food. I’m never, ever aggressive around food, I promise. I love to play with a tennis ball if you don’t throw it too far away. If you’re looking for a great companion, I’m just the one for you. I really hope that someone will let me come and live with them for the rest of my life because my family didn’t think I was worth it. Won’t you give me a chance to show you how wonderful a senior Weim can be?

My name is Bree and I am a 7 year old, healthy, female Weimaraner looking for a forever home. Although I’m 7 years old, I look and act more like a much younger girl, so don’t let my age fool ya! Because I’m so full of energy, I need to be with someone who will take me running with them. I’m also a bit rambunctious! and would not be good with children under the age of 12 (oh, and no cats or other small animals) because I don’t know my size and really need to work on my manners before I’m ready for that! Hopefully, my new home will know that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks and work with me to be a great companion for many years to come!

Odin is a sweet, gentle, 10 yr old neutered male that is looking for a furever home where he can spend his golden years. He was surrendered by his owner because she could no longer care for him. Odin is great with children of all ages as well as other dogs. His foster mom said that the children literally crawl all over him. He is a very laid back guy who just enjoys the company of his people and a soft bed to lay on. Wherever you are, Odin will be at your side. He would make an amazing companion for a senior. He does like to be outside, just not by himself. Odin is learning some new rules, like counter surfing is not allowed, and his foster mom is also working on not pulling on the leash while walking. Odin is a very quick learner and very eager to please. Won’t you consider giving Odin a place to call home? He’s just the best dog EVER!

No better place to lay my head than my brother’s body.
We are wonderful and huge. Think Marmaduke and Clifford. As big as we are (101 & 89 pounds of love each), our hearts are bigger. Even though we are gi-normous, we think we are lap dogs. We love to sleep in your bed and put out head in your lap while you sit on the couch.

We are incredibly well trained. Our human Mom had to give us up because of a personal addictions but she obviously spent a lot of time with us. We only bark when we see something (like those landscapers, or the Post man). My foster Mom had a dinner party this weekend with 12 people and everyone fell in love with us and my foster Mom says we are the best dogs she has ever had (including her own). Everyone who sees us marvels at our beauty and strength. They all say the same thing, “If I didn’t have 2 already, I would love to have these guys.” Don’t think of us a rescues because my foster Mom says we are a gift from God. We are perfect house dogs with a perfect track record with keeping the house tidy while the family is away. We do go in our cage sometimes, but if you leave us, we will howl a melody in perfect unison that will break your heart.

We are incredible hunters (see my video) on Facebook; we can run like mountain lions and our paws are as big as bears. We can swim, sit, down, heal and shake. (see my other FB video). We love car rides and take treats ever so gently from your finger tips. We wait our turn too when Mom is giving treats to everyone. We are polite when eating our food although we drink water like we have a ladle for a tongue. While from the same litter, my Brother Grayson and I do have some differences. Booker likes to lay down way more than Grayson. I, Grayson, like to prance and pace and keep checking the window for that pesky squirrel or those stupid doves that keep landing near our pool. My brother, Booker, likes to sit inside and chew a special toy while I, Grayson, like to be outside with the 14 year old boy. I, Grayson, am very curious about everything. My foster Mom says my name should be Curious George. If you open a drawer, I want to sniff it; If you bring home a bag, I want to sniff it; If you’ve been at someone’s house, I want to sniff you when you get home. I love to explore and watch you do things. When My foster Mom was cleaning out the pool with the really long stick, I tried to help her by pulling it with my mouth. It made my foster Mom laugh out loud. I do charming stuff like that everyday. I even alerted her the that the weird tethered creature in the pool (a.k.a. the pool vacuum) was stuck and spitting water. If it weren’t for me, she wouldn’t have seen it until the morning. I am so very interested in all new things. Big-Booker loves to scratch his back on the carpet and he makes noises like a bear. It’s so funny to watch a 101 pound dog enjoy his back scratch with all that noise. He makes Mom laugh too. Big Booker is very sensitive. If he thinks he is in trouble, you can see the sadness in his eyes that he has disappointed you.

My foster family’s children (18 and 14 years old) are begging the Mom to keep us but she already has 3 and we would make 5. My foster Mom did say we could stay here until we find the perfect family for us. We do have an Achilles heel: Small children scare us to death! When they are our height, they are looking us in the eye which we have never had before. Families without small children are a must. So if you are looking for 2 big-lugs to snuggle with and have room for us in your home & in your heart, please contact the Atlanta Weimaraner Rescue club or inbox me on FB.
A local behaviorist has fallen in love with Booker/Grayson and is offering a free training session to the adoptive family.

Max is a stunningly regal, neutered, 7 year old boy who loves life! Max came to rescue because his owner could no longer care for him, however, Max couldn’t be more optimistic about his future. On sunny days, Max can be found grazing in the grass or sunbathing. He has bursts of energy throughout the day but otherwise spends his time napping. He walks well on a leash and on the few occasions that he has been off leash at the park, he has exhibited wonderful recall, galloping back each time his name was called.

He does well when left home alone and has finally mastered the dog door! Now he can let himself out when he needs to relieve himself or just wants to stretch his legs. Max loves to ride in the car…he jumps right in and he’s ready to go, go, go! Max’s foster mom and dad think Max is one of the most adoring, devoted Weims they have ever met. He’s just a big lover boy waiting for the right family to come along! Max has a very healthy appetite, but has exhibited no food aggression.
Most of all, Max wants to be cherished and valued. He wants to rest his big head on the lap of someone he can trust and know that he has found the love that only a forever home can bring.
