Edison is a sweet boy with typical weimy traits! He’s energetic and friendly, but loves a good soft spot to lay his head and hang out with his family. He’s a very laidback, easy going big love! If you have a soft spot for Edison on your couch or bed and in your heart, let us know!

The AWCR uses a common process in its rescue program. Read about our Adoption Process procedures.

We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. If you wish to make a donation, please use our online giving page.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.

Edison has boarded with us on and off since being rescued by AWCR. He does really well in this environment. We don’t see any signs of his separation anxiety, but I suppose that’s because he’s never really alone – with several dogs and my staff always nearby.

He’s quiet when he’s in his pen (a 4′ x 4′ enclosure) and he gets along with all of the dogs here – big and small. He doesn’t ‘play’ per se, but when he’s in the yard he lopes around, sniffs, pees on every blade of grass – and sunbathes. He barks when he’s ready to come inside.

He loves having his ears and belly scratched – and it is a real honor when Edison bestows a kiss on you because he gives them very rarely.

He is a sweet, gentle boy who I think would do really well in a moderately active household – he likes his exercise (walks in the park especially!) but he also likes to sleep! I do believe he would like a canine companion.

He has a hardy appetite, but is not food aggressive. Other than his dry kibble, he enjoys the occasional ‘chewy stick’-type treat.

Oh, and he has never met a stranger. He greets new people very nicely and very quietly.

He is a special boy – a real treat. I would adopt him myself if I didn’t already have five dogs! We are really going to miss this big guy but we can’t wait for him to find his forever home.
