Searching for his “Happy Trail Home.” Griffin or “Grif” is a handsome 9-month old grey male Weim with a docked tail. Like all young Weims, Grif is slender, athletic and full of energy. Griffin’s breeder did not take the time to teach and train him to be an indoor dog, so his foster family is working with him (i.e., crate training, housebreaking, walking on leash, etc.). His foster Weim brother is helping Grif make great progress on proper behavior and what is acceptable behavior. As Grif appears to be a dominant male, he would do best with a submissive other dog (not sure about cats or small dogs yet). Grif is still unsure of his surroundings and will need time and patience to learn to be a spoiled Weim. Grif’s perfect family will be experienced with raising large sporting dogs and have a fenced yard. His perfect family will also need to provide tons of exercise and constant structure. This gorgeous boy will make a wonderful companion and addition to someone’s home and family, however, because of his size, we think no small children.

The AWCR uses a common process in its rescue program. Read about our Adoption Process procedures.

We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. If you wish to make a donation, please use our online giving page.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.

We are interested in visiting with Griffin. We had to put our Weim down last fall because of congestive heart failure. I have had 4 Weiss over the last 40 years.
