Help Leilani and Give Thanks!

As we begin to remember then things that make us thankful at the beginning of the holiday season, we ask you to help Leilani. As a volunteer and donation funded organization, Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue’s primary mission is to save sick and unwanted pets that come to us through shelters and families who are unable to continue to care for their pets. We accept these pets without judge

ment, as our primary goal is to rehome them with a safe and loving family.

Sometimes, however, we are asked to help in less traditional ways…

We were contacted by a friend of Leilani’s owner, Jai, a soldier stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. Leilani’s dad is a veteran and suffers from PTSD. Leilani is his “rock”. Leilani fell down the stairs yesterday and broke her femur. Unfortunately, the veterinarian on base is unable to perform the surgery she needs to insert the pins to reset the let, so she was taken to an off-base veterinary clinic who will perform the surgery. The cost for the surgery will be $1200-$1500.

So, this is our chance to give back and “pay it forward” to our supporters through the year and to honor Jai’s service to our country… We have created a Chip-in campaign to help Jai pay for Leilani’s surgery. All donations are made to Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue, and, therefore, tax-deductible. We have been in contact with the vet clinic and we will pay the clinic directly with the funds that have been donated.

$10 by 100 people gets us to $1000…

$20 by 60 people gets us to $1200…

How can you help?

The AWCR uses a common process in its rescue program. Read about our Adoption Process procedures.

We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. If you wish to make a donation, please use our online giving page.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.
