Remy is a 7 year old, gray female Weim with a docked tail. She is a sweet girl that loves to be near her family. She gets along great with other dogs! We have recently found out that Remy is diabetic. So she will need a home that is willing to commit to twice daily insulin injections and routine blood sugar checks.
Update on Remy: Remy continues to be as sweet as she can be! However, we’re still working on regulating her blood sugar and working with our Veterinary Team to understand why she continues to lose weight. Her spirits and energy level continue to amaze us – she doesn’t seem to know she’s sick! She loves running through the woods and will even get into the water to cool off! She loves a soft couch and a warm bed and luckily her foster mom and weimie “sister” Sara Lee are happy to provide both! Taking care of Remy requires twice daily blood sugar checks, insulin injections, diabetic supplies, special diet food, veterinary visits, ultrasounds, xrays, frequent bloodwork, liver function tests and a myriad of other tests to try to find the underlying cause of her weight loss. All of this take a toll not only on Remy and her foster mom, but also on our resources.

The AWCR uses a common process in its rescue program. Read about our Adoption Process procedures.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.
