Sky is a sweet little girl coming to us from a shelter in Effingham County, GA – near Savannah. She’s on the thin side, but is very calm and loving. She’s good with children, other dogs and cats.
Sky is heartworm positive and will need to complete heartworm treatment.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.
Skye has definitely found her home with us in the mountains! She’s been with us since July 11, getting healthier & happier. She is still undergoing treatment for heartworms but is doing so very well. She’s figured out that our bed is fair game in the morning with Brodie & Maddie, counters should not be surfed even tho’ that garlic bread smells so good, cat toys are not for greedy Weims, hummingbirds are great fun to watch outside of the window, & having company for dinner is a pretty nice thing. She’s sweet & loving, has a rather patrician nose & longish tail, & is now curious & playfull. Once she is heartworm free, there is a whole world out there to explore & she is ready to go see.

Update on Skye: it is now Christmas & she has been running around our mountain in the snow with 4 other big dogs all day long. She’s come through all the months of heartworm treatment with patience & is now a very happy, healthy, beautiful girl. And she is a truly special Christmas present.
