Stella is a beautiful, approx. 1-2 year old silver female Weim with a docked tail. She is super sweet to all humans and great with kids, loves to ride in the car (and behaves perfectly!). She is crate trained, almost house broken, and sleeps long hours through the night. She also loves to stare at herself in the mirror! Unfortunately, Miss Stella did not have the best life prior to coming to rescue and has now been treated for heartworms and will complete her quiet time Feb. 22, 2018. Stellas’ foster mom said that Stella gets super excited when shown attention and her entire body wags. Might as well call her Miss Wiggles! Stella will need a patient family that is willing to continue training her with basic doggy manners. She is a fast learner and wants to please. Stella would do best in a home with no other dogs and no small furry critters, including cats. Do you have room in your heart and home for this joyful bundle of energy?

Update from Stella’s foster mom: Stella continues to be such a joy to our family. She was so kind with the kids this weekend- and they just adored her. Call her name, and she will run right up and give you a big lick to the face if you will let her! She is one of the happiest dogs I have ever met. She is so young and inquisitive- loves to sniff around, watch squirrels, and be right in the middle of all the action. She was a hoot to watch in the snow- wasn’t so sure at first but then decided she loved to dip her nose in it- see picture. She does the cutest “weim head tilt and howl” when she hears or sees a doggy on tv or if you squeal at her. Stella also loves to sleep on her back with her four paws in the air! She is still so full of energy but her house manners are improving drastically. When I picked her up from her injections today even the vet said “Stella is so sweet- she had the heart of everyone here with her friendly personality and wagging booty!” She will make the perfect family pet and will quickly melt your heart- I cant wait to see what family gets to enjoy this bundle of happiness.

The AWCR uses a common process in its rescue program. Read about our Adoption Process procedures.

We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. If you wish to make a donation, please use our online giving page.

Of course, financial assistance is typically our greatest need because of the costs encountered with rescuing our beautiful gray & blue friends ($300 per dog on average). But, there are several other ways for you to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.

I’m just checking on Stella. We live on a 20+ acre farm but don’t have a fenced in backyard. So we are wondering if we try to adopt her would she be available to us since we don’t have a fenced in yard?
Plus we travel a lot especially to our second home in Florida which does have a fenced in yard. Is she a good traveler?

I’m married and we have a 11 month old son but no pets. We live in the country where she would have plenty of yard to run in. She would definitely become a part of our hanky and not just a dog. I’m a stay at home mom so shed get lots of attention and love every day. I would buy a cage and let her be in it while gone for Dr appointments and grocery shopping but that’s just maybe once a week to every other week. We would even take her with us when we go camping during the summer. She’s so gorgeous and love everything I’ve read about her! I’m really excited and hope she’s still available ???? please call me and let me know if she is. 918 418 7547
