<title="Troy" src="/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Troy/Troy3.jpg" alt="" />

Troy is a very handsome, neutered, housebroken 4 yr old Weim. His foster mom describes Troy as a “gentle giant.” and “83 pounds of pure love.”
Update from Troy’s foster mom:
Troy wants nothing more than to be with you and appreciates having his ears rubbed and his back scratched. He loves sitting with us on the sofa or hanging out in the yard. Troy also is a good running partner, but does better with a pinch collar as he tends to want to chase small furry things like rabbits or squirrels if he sees them while running. Troy would do best in a fenced yard, as he will bolt, getting far away very quickly if he escapes! He enjoys car rides and going to the dog park, although he is a dominant male and thinks he should be the “dog patrol” and will try to break up anything that looks like it might be a fight, even if it is just playful, so he must be watched and removed if there are aggressive dogs present. He does very well with our two Weims, and loves to wrestle and play. He is protective of the family and can demonstrate jealous behavior with other dogs, so it is important to continually reassure him. Troy is now getting used to his crate when we leave, but we have also left him out of the crate when we were gone for short periods and he seems content to sleep on the sofa. Troy can be a counter surfer, so he cannot be left with food unattended on counters or tables. He is very gentle and takes treats from your hand very nicely. Troy is okay with cats, but must be watched as he does love to chase our cat and could be too rough if we didn’t tell him “no” every time he attempts to chase the cat. Troy is equally friendly with large and small dogs and gets along well with other pets when they come to visit. Troy didn’t know any commands at first, but he is learning “sit” and “lie down.” He will jump at times, but understands “no” and will stop if commanded to do so. Troy is HW positive and is on a new protocol for treatment, which he is tolerating quite well. (Treatment takes approx. 6 months and AWCR provides all medications during this period.) He takes his medications well, although he has learned their taste and will eat around the pills in his dog food, so we now have to “camouflage” them a bit better to get him to swallow them. Troy has not been observed around small children, but we believe he will make an excellent addition to a caring family.

Lily is a gorgeous nearly 5 year old, grey, 70lb spayed female Weim that needs a new home. Lily loves to be with her family at all times and loves to take daily walks. She is up to date on all shots and is on a monthly heartworm treatment and is housebroken. Lily gets along well with other dogs – she is quite submissive even to dogs that are smaller in size to her. She gets along with cats, as long as they get along with dogs. She loves children and has always had children in the home, including infant and toddler age children (our children are ages 2 through 16). Lily loves to ride in the car and will hop right in if you ask her if she wants to go for a ride. She is kennel trained, but prefers a wire kennel to a plastic airline –type kennel. We do not leave her to roam free in the house. Like many Weims, she has some anxiety issues when “her kids” are outside and she is not with them – she will pace and whine until either they come in, or she is taken out to play with them. She also will countersurf if given the opportunity, but also has been taught to lie down during meals and not enter the dining area. We want a “forever family” for Lily.

Barney is a beautiful, 2 year old, neutered, male Weim that needs a new home because we are unable to give him the time he needs. As with all Weims, Barney is high energy and will need some obedience training. Barney is up-to-date on his shots, and is mostly housebroken. Barney gets along well with other dogs and he is great with children. Barney does well in a crate, and is also fine left free roaming in the house alone. Barney is eager to please and would make an excellent running companion. We want a home for Barney that can spend the time with him that he needs. Recommend a runner, or someone who spends a lot of time outdoors. He loves being outside and with people!

Maximus is a handsome, grey, 100 lb, 4 yr old, neutered male Weim with a docked tail who has lots of love to give. He is a bit demanding at times, and has lots of energy. He stands tall and is loyal to his family. We are going through a change and will not be able to take Maximus with us due to location. Maximus needs space to play and family to play with. He currently sleeps with us and is house broken and an indoor dog. If you want a loyal friend who will need you as much as you need him, Max is your dog. He is high energy and does bark to get what he wants, so be patient and work with him. We love him dearly and as hard as this is, we know he deserves to be in a home with space and time. We will provide remaining heartworm meds and he is up to date on shots.

Ophelia (a/k/a Fifi) is an absolutely gorgeous 4 year old spayed Weim. She is very sweet and affectionate with her humans, and very much a house dog. She has typical Weimer energy, loves to run, go for walks and play. She loves the water and fetching sticks. No cats, please. Fifi knows her basic commands and has great recall. She comes from long distance with only a whistle. She is housebroken and stays in the basement and sleeps on the couch with our shepherd (Hobo)at night, and when we are gone, without any problems. She is very protective of her owners time and affection! Fifi will herd Hobo, who is an older submissive male, away without force so they get along fine and actually run and play chase when outside or just lie together on the porch. She loves to be outside and run. She does not do well with females or a male who stands his ground as she is dominant.

Fifi is a great Weim and will make someone a great companion. Fifi will be okay with a submissive male but probably will do best as an only dog. No small or young children that would compete for her attention with owner. She is very loving and well behaved. No attempts to get over or under or fence

My name is Paisley and I want to tell you about myself. I am a 12-18 month gray female weimaraner (a little on the smaller side) and was a stray in Perry, GA before the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue brought me here. In spite of all that I’ve been through I am super sweet, happy-go-lucky, gentle, and submissive. Unlike others in my breed I am more laid back and relaxed. If you adopt me, you will find out how much I love to cuddle and be with you all the time; but if you are busy, I am happy to hang out on my bed with a bone. I am housebroken and crate trained. In my foster home I live with two weims and two cats. We have a lot of fun together and we all get along well. I love to go for walks and will let you walk me, instead of me walking you. When we go out to play my favorite game is fetch and I love to wrestle with my friends at the dog park. I promise to behave when you take me for rides in the car and to come when you call me. You should know that I would really love a home where I can cuddle on the couch or in bed with you.
Unfortunately, I am heartworm positive and will need to go through treatment. However, other than that, I’m fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and healthy!

Caleb is a 3 yr old beautiful, neutered, male Weim with a docked tail. He is a sweet, timid boy who loves other dogs. Caleb and his sister, Callie, were left in a small pen in the backyard and were not given the love and attention they so deserved.
Here is an update from his foster mom:
Caleb’s coat is now softer and shiny like Hailey’s – and it’s not coming out in handfuls either! Amazing what 2 months of good food can do! He’s put on weight (am taking him to get weighed/nails trimmed tomorrow), his bones no longer stick out. He’s becoming more playful, chasing toys and bringing them back; craves attention, pushing Hailey out of the way!; is now wagging his tail and actually approaching Earle for attention. He’s very affectionate with me, less so with Jeremy and Earle. Caleb is still a little skittish about fast moves, but is inquisitive about people we pass while walking. He’s excellent on the leash, although he does enjoy trying to pull ahead to keep up with Hailey. He’s housebroken, stands by back door when he needs out. Rarely barks (unless Hailey starts it). He’s learning to sit on command, we’re working on crate training.

I’m Callie. I am a 3yr old spayed female looking for a loving forever home. The first 3 years of my life weren’t very kind, I was left outside in a kennel and didn’t get any love or attention. I am great with kids of all ages and I get along fine with other dogs, I might even be ok with cats. I am not your typical weim as I am more laid back and prefer sleeping curled up at your feet rather than wanting to run around play. My foster family has worked to socialize me and I have enjoyed trips to the dog park. I am still learning basic commands so I need an owner who is going to be patient and understanding of me while I learn the things you want me to do. I have been doing very well with house and crate training. If you are looking for a dog that will be loyal, loving, follow you where ever you go, and keep your feet warm, I am the girl for you!
Unfortunately, Callie is heartworm positive and will be going through treatment very soon.

Max is a stunningly regal, neutered, 7 year old boy who loves life! Max came to rescue because his owner could no longer care for him, however, Max couldn’t be more optimistic about his future. On sunny days, Max can be found grazing in the grass or sunbathing. He has bursts of energy throughout the day but otherwise spends his time napping. He walks well on a leash and on the few occasions that he has been off leash at the park, he has exhibited wonderful recall, galloping back each time his name was called.

He does well when left home alone and has finally mastered the dog door! Now he can let himself out when he needs to relieve himself or just wants to stretch his legs. Max loves to ride in the car…he jumps right in and he’s ready to go, go, go! Max’s foster mom and dad think Max is one of the most adoring, devoted Weims they have ever met. He’s just a big lover boy waiting for the right family to come along! Max has a very healthy appetite, but has exhibited no food aggression.
Most of all, Max wants to be cherished and valued. He wants to rest his big head on the lap of someone he can trust and know that he has found the love that only a forever home can bring.

Due circumstances at home our family will not be able to provide Luke the attention and home he deserves. Luke is a fully vetted, neutered, AKC registered silver gray Weim. He is a year and half old and weighs almost 90 pounds. He is up to date on his shots and heartworm medicine. He is great with children and does not jump up on people. He will tolerate cats, as he has lived with them hi whole life. He gets a little nervous on car rides but will calm down after a couple minutes. He gets along great with other dogs and loves the dog park. Luke is fully crate trained, and house broken as well. He has been known to counter surf and we have been working on that. He knows how to sit, shake and lay down. Luke loves to go for walks and can jog 5miles without any problem. Luke loves to chase birds and squirrels in the back yard.
