Hi, my name is Lulu and I am a very sweet, little girl (50 lbs.) I am 3 yrs. old and spayed. Everyone thinks I am just PRECIOUS! My family gave my brother, Eli, and me to the rescue because they could no longer care for us. I am very submissive and a ‘follower.’ I am crate trained, housebroken and I know some basic commands. My family kept me outside in the backyard during the day because the little boy had asthma, but I always slept in the house at night, in a crate. My mom described me as friendly, enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky, but some say I’m shy. I am okay around small children, but I think cats should be elsewhere. I would love a family that would let me stay with my brother Eli, but if you have another dog, I can come live with you and learn to love that dog…I promise I’ll be a good girl. Won’t you give me a chance to show you?

Roxy is our wonderful 8 year old, neutered, female Weim. She needs a new home because we are unable provide adequate for her with our schedules, the kids and the new baby soon to join our family of five. She is great with all of the kids especially the 2 year old who loves to “ride” on her. But with the school and sports of the older kids, we don’t have time to properly get her out and let her enjoy herself. She has been spending too much time in the basement by herself to be fair to her. Roxy will be at your side all of the time when you are around. She just wants to be part of the family. She listens very well and will hang outside with all of us without a leash with no problem. She loves to visit the neighbor dogs when they come by. In the past, we had an indoor cat which she was very fond of, as well as an outdoor cat. Roxy will stand at your hip on the command “hip”. She will also go to her bed on command “bed”. Roxy is current on all of her shots and rings a bell when she needs to go out.

Hi, my name is Cayla. I am approx. 1-2 yrs old, spayed girl (this coming week) and I have a natural tail…(I heard that makes me just that much cuter!) Up until a few days ago, I lived outside under an abandoned house and every few days, a nice man came and put some food out for me and my brother, Comet, so we wouldn’t starve. We got water from a nearby lake. I am not really sure how we got to the house, but I am glad we did because we were so afraid when the rain came…we just curled up together like a pretzel. A wonderful lady came and put us in her truck. She told us we would never have to worry about being afraid or hungry again. I went to the vet for the first time and got all of my shots (that was not fun!), and some medicine for those nasty flea bugs (gosh, they were itchy!) The man that gave me the shots said I didn’t have any nasty heartworms (the lady clapped!) The lady said that I was such a precious, sweet, little 49 lb. girl, and that when I gained some weight and got healthy, I would be gorgeous. The nice lady said I was a wiggle worm, like my brother, and that when I learned how to be an inside dog, and how to walk on a leash (whatever that is), I would make someone an amazing companion. The nice lady also said that I should live with a family that has experience with dogs like me…Weimers. So, now I’m waiting to find out what this ‘living with a family’ is all about. I hope you hurry cause it sounds like fun!

Ellie is a beautiful, healthy, 54 lb, 7 year old female that is looking for a new forever home. Ellie is good with other dogs, likes to ride in the car, walks nicely on leash, and loves to play Frisbee. She has always been a house dog, is very friendly, and happy-go-lucky. Ellie would make an excellent running companion, and she especially likes to go to the dog park. Ellie needs to be in a home that can give her lots of exercise and attention. She would do best in a home with no small children (under 10 yrs.)

Lizzie was a year old in December, I got her from a “city dweller” that worked a great deal and did not have time for her and we though the country would be the perfect place for her. However, I am unable to keep Lizzie because she cannot understand that our horses are dangerous and will not stay out from under them- she has been kicked and stepped on several times and has been very lucky. I don’t want to see her seriously injured. She is super sweet and loves everyone, she came with some habits like counter surfing and refusing to go in her crate and barking when outside. We have worked on all those and she has responded very well. She is “mostly” housebroken but she is in her crate when I am not here- we taught her to ring a bell when she needs to go out but if there is no one here she will go in the house. She is spayed and micro chipped. She is very food motivated and training with treats is quite effective, she knows basic commands, sit, down, off, out, crate, etc. She loves to ride in the car. She prefers being an “inside dog”. She is not much of a barker but will pace and whine when she can’t be with you, she usually stops if you tell her to hush but she is heaven when lying at your feet (even happier if allowed in your lap!!). She will briefly bark at strangers or a knock on the door but is not aggressive. She will steal candy from babies and then lick their faces. She loves to run more than any dog I have ever seen but she is not a runaway- she will come back when you call her. Since she loves to run it can be difficult to keep weight on her. She gets along great with our 2 other dogs and our cat- she will chase chickens but stops when I tell her to. Please email or call with any questions, she is a fantastic, beautiful dog!

Zoe is a beautiful, loving, 2 years old, female Weimaraner. She is looking for a new home because her family was unable to give her the time she needed. Zoe is high energy but has had basic obedience training and knows all the basic commands, like sit, stay and off (not allowed on furniture). Zoe is housebroken and gets along well with most other dogs (but has not been around cats.) She would do best with children older than seven or eight who she can hang out with outside. She loves to ride in the car and has been traveling since she was a puppy. Zoe does well in a crate, but is not to be trusted roaming in the house alone she is still in puppy stage. She has an easy temperament and very adaptable but needs exercise and/or a running companion.

Keoki and Samara are 8 year old gray Weimaraners. They came to our rescue from a family who, unfortunately, had to give them up due to military assignment that took them overseas.

Keoki is a happy dog that gets along well with other dogs and does well around children. He enjoys riding in the car, playing ball, he walks well on a leash, is housebroken and crate trained.
Keoki is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Samara is a cautious dog when you first meet her, but warms up quickly. She gets along with other dogs and does well around children. She enjoys riding in the car, playing ball, is housebroken and crate trained. Samara is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped.

We would like to try to place Keoki and Samara together, but will consider separating them

My name is Macy, I am 7 years old, and AKC Registered. I was surrendered by my owner because she could no longer care for me. She told me I would find a new, ‘forever’ home where I will be loved forever. I am great with other dogs, housebroken, crate trained and great with kids, including toddlers. My mom said I am a ‘velcro’ dog and I like to hunt. I like to ride in the car, go for long walks, and don’t mind a good, warm bath…I don’t think cats are a good idea since I like to hunt. I am waiting to meet you.

Hi! Our names are Tyla and Duke, and we are 8 years young. My mom said to tell you that we are AKC Registered, but not from the same litter. We used to live in a house with two cats, but my mom could no longer take care of us, so she gave us to a nice lady at AWCR who promised she would find us a new home. We are such good dogs; we like other dogs, long rides in the car, and playing ball. We are housebroken, think the crate is okay cause we sleep there, and love to go for long walks or jogs. We would really love to find a family that will let us stay together because we’ve been together since we were puppies. We promise to be good! Oh, and we want to also mention that we were raised with two children from birth and we are very gentle with kids even when they are rough, pull our tails and skin or lay all over us… You’ve got to admit that makes us very special…and good with cats…what more could you ask for? I hope you will consider giving us a new home with your family and let us show you how wonderful we are! (We will also consider separating Tyla and Duke if there is another dog in the home.)
Here is an Update:
Duke and Tyla are two very sweet dogs with very different pesonallities. Duke loves to be outside ramble and hunt. He has great recall and very loving. Tyla is a couch potato and likes to play with Duke when outside. Both do great inside and have learned the dog door. They rest quietly on couch down stairs when left alone. They are well behaved and should make a great addition to a loving home. They will be easy for any home to handle.

Charliegh is a 1 year old Weimaraner who has been spayed and is up to date on all of her shots. She is given a monthly heartworm pill and generally takes medicines very well. Charliegh weighs approximately 60lbs. and is very strong and athletic. Unfortunately, she needs to be outside and we do not have a fenced in yard where she can safely play. We have also had a few issues with the dog getting on furniture-it is believed her previous owners allowed this. We adopted Charliegh from a woman who worked as a paramedic so she has had to adjust to a more normal lifestyle. This is slowly happening but the dog could use obedience training. Charliegh is a very, very intelligent and would make a great companion to someone looking for a younger Weimaraner. She is also great with our son but loves his stuffed animals!
